Throughout September, Dickinson State University (DSU) will offer a series of events and activities for students as part of its “30 Days of Programming.” The schedule includes a variety of sports, recreational games, cultural gatherings, and opportunities for students to engage with campus organizations.

The month begins with Labor Day on September 1, when no classes are scheduled. That evening, students can participate in Glow in the Dark Capture the Flag at King Pavilion. Athletic events such as volleyball matches against BSC, Dakota State, Bellevue, and others are set throughout the month at Scott Gym. Additional sporting activities include kickball, spikeball tournaments, softball games at Bravera Field, baseball matchups at DCBTB, and football against CC at BAC.

Recreational and social events feature karaoke nights at Blue Hawk Hub, mini golf at the Ag Building, game nights in various campus locations, bowling with President Molander at Paragon Bowl on September 21, and pickleball on September 30 at the Tennis Courts Lowman Walton.

Cultural and educational programming includes a Clubs & Orgs Fair on September 10 in the SC Ballroom and an Ag Building BBQ that evening. Students can also attend “Sober Talk with Brothers Brandon ‘The Ragin Cajun’” on September 16 in Beck Auditorium. Mental health awareness is highlighted by “Talk Saves Lives” on September 23 in the SC Movie Theater.

Performing arts offerings comprise improv night at Stickney Auditorium and several showings of “The Foreigner.” Music performances such as Mexican Brass will be held twice during the month in Beck Auditorium.

Family Weekend coincides with major events like the TR Symposium (September 26–27), hosted both on DSU’s campus and in Medora, ND. The DSU Blue Hawk Stampede Rodeo also takes place during this weekend.

With daily programming across different interests—sports competitions, club fairs, wellness talks, live performances—students have many options to connect with peers and get involved during September.

“Whether you’re into sports, music, games, or just hanging out with friends, September is the month to get involved!” according to event organizers.
