Dickinson State University (DSU) is set to honor its Spring 2025 graduates at the annual Commencement Ceremony scheduled for May 17 at 10:00 AM MT. The event will take place in Scott Gymnasium.
Student speakers for the ceremony include Veronica (Rohnnie) Nacota from Riverton, Wyoming, and Griffin Obrigewitch from Dickinson, North Dakota. Rohnnie Nacota will be receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration with majors in Business Administration and Human Resource Management. Her involvement as a Student Ambassador and participation in various campus activities are notable. Post-graduation, she will begin a full-time role with YES, LLC. Griffin Obrigewitch, set to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Leadership, has engaged actively in campus life through roles in the Student Senate and the Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program. Griffin, graduating Summa Cum Laude, plans to attend the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
The ceremony will confer degrees to 226 students, including 23 master's, 161 bachelor's, 33 associate's, and 38 certificates. Among these graduates, 75 are receiving honors for academic excellence.
Dr. Holly Gruhlke, vice president of Academic Affairs and provost, remarked, "This moment marks the culmination of years of dedication, growth, and perseverance. Our graduates have not only met the academic challenges placed before them, but they’ve also demonstrated the character and leadership that reflect the values of Dickinson State University."
Acting President Ty Orton added, "It has been an honor to serve our students and community during this pivotal time. The Class of 2025 has shown remarkable strength and resilience, and today’s ceremony is a celebration of that spirit."
Incoming president Scott Molander will also address the graduates. "As I step into the role of president, I am inspired by the drive and determination of the Class of 2025. Their achievements are a testament to the exceptional learning environment and community here at DSU," Molander expressed.
