Ann Wittkopp, Dean of the School of Professional Studies at Dickinson State University (DSU), has been honored with the North Dakota Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ND ESGR) Patriot Award. This award highlights her exceptional support for National Guard and Reserve members in the workplace.
Wittkopp's nomination for the award was made by TJ Dempsey, Assistant Professor of Psychology and Specialist of the North Dakota Army National Guard. Dempsey praised Wittkopp for her consistent support of his military service, which included accommodating early departures for military processing, training, and drill weekends, alongside offering flexibility with work responsibilities.

The Patriot Award is a notable recognition from the ESGR, presented to supervisors who significantly support National Guard and Reserve employees. Nominations are unique, as they must be initiated by the service member or their spouse.
