The upcoming 2nd Annual Leadership Rising Conference, set for April 29, 2025, aims to enhance coaching skills across various fields. Organized by Dickinson State University’s School of Business & Entrepreneurship in partnership with Baker Boy and the Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program, this event will take place at the DSU campus's Student Center.
Supported by the North Dakota Economic Diversification Research Grant, the conference underscores a commitment to leadership development and economic growth. It offers a half-day session from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., featuring speakers known for their expertise in leadership.
Students from DSU’s Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program have been actively involved in planning the event. Debora Dragseth, Baker Boy Professor of Leadership, praised their efforts: “It has been a joy to guide these exceptional Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership students as they take on the challenge of planning this conference."
Henry Maughan expressed gratitude for being part of the student team: “This conference embodies the best of leadership and sport together.” Cash Randle emphasized practical learning experiences gained through planning: “Planning this business conference is giving us the chance to apply what we’ve learned...in a real, hands-on way.”
Keynote speakers include Iona Stookey, Jarett Andretti (virtual), Adam Andretti (virtual), and Pete Stanton. Iona Stookey brings decades of experience in high school volleyball with numerous championships under her belt. Jarett Andretti will share insights on perseverance and leadership while Adam Andretti contributes his racing wisdom. Pete Stanton will discuss strategies behind building successful teams.
