Dickinson State University announces new staff appointments

Dickinson State University (DSU) has announced several staff changes, including promotions and new hires. The university is highlighting the contributions of its employees and welcoming new team members who are expected to make significant impacts.

Makayla Grijalva joins DSU as an admissions counselor. Originally from New Mexico, she brings a background in journalism and multimedia communications from the University of New Mexico. Her previous roles include working with local newspapers and serving in Public Relations for the New Mexico Higher Education Department. She is currently advancing her education by pursuing a master's degree in Youth Development at North Dakota State University.

Troy Huber takes on the role of Controller at DSU. With over three decades of residency in Dickinson, Huber graduated from DSU in 1989. His professional journey includes a position as program manager for Consortium before returning to his alma mater to contribute his expertise.

Mark Martinez has been appointed as the Accessibility Services and Tutoring Center Coordinator at the SOAR Center. He holds degrees from Fresno Pacific and Norwich, where he earned a master’s in history. With eight years of experience as a behavioral interventionist and mentor, Martinez is enthusiastic about continuing his career in higher education.

The university expressed its appreciation for these individuals' dedication and looks forward to their future contributions.
