Dickinson State University (DSU) is set to host the Badlands Opera Project's (BOP) performance of "Into the Woods" from March 28-30 at the May Hall Dorothy Stickney Auditorium. This event signifies the start of a new collaboration between DSU and BOP, aimed at bringing various performances and opportunities to the university.

"We are extremely grateful to DSU for the opportunities this partnership will bring," stated Kelsey K. Rogers, BOP Artistic Director. "We look forward to housing many shows and summer camps at DSU, and the increased artist opportunities the use of this space will provide us. We see this as a positive step forward not only for our organization but also for the future of the arts in the Dickinson region."

The connection between BOP and DSU is strong, with several key members being alumni, including board members Beth Hurt and Jesse Kilwein, Cole Beck, social media coordinator; Joel Walter, marketing director; and Kayla Kilwein, BOP’s executive director.

The partnership offers promising prospects for DSU students as well. Autumn Martin-Geerts, a senior at DSU, will perform as Milky White and Snow White in "Into the Woods." This marks her first production with BOP. “I haven’t had much experience with the BOP,” Martin-Geerts said. “But I am excited to get back onto the stage and see how they work.”

The upcoming performance is expected to be a notable milestone in enhancing collaboration between DSU and BOP, contributing significantly to Dickinson's arts community while providing valuable experiences for both students and professionals.
