The Dickinson State University (DSU) School of Business and Entrepreneurship uses the Peregrine General Education (PGE) assessment to evaluate its degree programs. This exam is administered to senior capstone students nearing graduation and measures academic achievement and mastery of key subjects. The results provide insights that help ensure DSU graduates are prepared for professional careers.

The PGE assessment also allows DSU to compare its students with those from other universities, including institutions accredited by organizations such as the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), and the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). This comparative data highlights strengths in DSU’s curriculum while identifying areas for improvement.

The results of the PGE assessment show that DSU students perform exceptionally well compared to their peers nationwide, including those at AACSB, ACBSP, and IACBE-accredited institutions.

In Fall 2023, DSU students achieved an outbound percentage of 78.95%, surpassing the national average of 60.87%. In Spring 2024, they continued strong performance with a 73.15% outbound percentage, again outpacing averages of AACSB, ACBSP, and IACBE institutions.

“The excellent outcomes of the Peregrine test are a testament to the quality of DSU’s exceptional education,” said Dr. Ayodeji Arogundade, Dean of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship. “It reflects the commitment of our dedicated faculty to equipping our incredible students with the required skills and knowledge to excel in the real business world.”

These results highlight DSU's faculty quality, curriculum, and educational experience within its School of Business and Entrepreneurship. By maintaining rigorous academic standards and fostering a supportive learning environment, DSU empowers its students for success in both academic pursuits and professional careers.

“These results reaffirm DSU’s dedication to academic excellence and our mission to prepare students for success in their careers and communities,” said Holly Gruhlke, Vice President of Dickinson State University. “Our students’ achievements reflect the hard work of both our faculty and the incredible individuals who choose to study at DSU.”
