January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, which means a commitment to protect and empower survivors of all forms of human trafficking, to prosecute traffickers, and to bring an end to human trafficking in the United States and around the world.
Recently, a human trafficking survivor came to Williston State College and told her story to students, staff, and faculty.
Krissi Moore, Human Trafficking Outreach Coordinator/ Case Manager, with the Family Crisis Shelter, INC , told of how she was abducted from her small Minnesota town in 2009, which led to a nine-year struggle, being trafficked all over the world. She told of the physical and emotional trauma she endured, and how she escaped.
We would like to thank Krissi for sharing her story with our students, faculty, and staff.
