Dickinson State University is preparing to welcome students back to campus with its annual Weekend of Welcome, scheduled for August 22–25. The event is designed to help both new and returning students settle in and connect with the campus community.

The weekend begins on Friday, August 22, with freshmen move-in from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by novelty activities and make-and-take sessions in the afternoon. A resident assistant technology session will be held at 6 p.m., and the evening will feature laser tag and LED mini golf.

Saturday’s schedule includes another move-in window from 10 a.m. to noon, brunch at The Perch with a decorate-your-own donut activity, outdoor inflatables at King Pavilion, a Sip & Paint event in the Student Center Foyer, Grocery Bag Bingo, and late-night activities at WRCC.

On Sunday, August 24, move-in continues from noon to 2 p.m., alongside brunch at The Perch. Students can participate in potting plants and rock painting before another RA technology session at 1 p.m. Bowling is available at The Paragon from 2–4 p.m., followed by Taco Fest at King Pavilion with two seatings in the evening. Housing meetings for Woods Hall, Selke Hall, DeLong Hall, and Pulver Hall are scheduled throughout Sunday night.

Monday marks the official start of the semester with convocation and a campus picnic featuring Nico Franc at noon. During the picnic, winners of grand prize giveaways will be announced. Comedian Jeff Scheen will perform in the Student Center Ballroom that evening.

No meal plans are required for events marked with an asterisk during the weekend. Giveaways will take place throughout all four days; attending more events increases chances of winning prizes. Move-in times continue as posted across the weekend.
