Williston State College recently acknowledged the accomplishments of two students, Eva Vicha and Kylie Keller, for their contributions to Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), an honor society for two-year colleges. Both students have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and community service.
Eva Vicha, originally from Williston and currently a sophomore at Williston State College, is working towards both an Associate of Science and an Associate of Arts degree. She has been actively involved in PTK for three semesters. Eva plans to continue her education at a four-year university with a major in Psychology. In addition to her academic pursuits, she hopes to reengage with competitive gymnastics at the university level. Her interests outside academics include traveling, hiking, and spending time with family.
Kylie Keller also hails from Williston and has shown significant leadership within PTK as the president of the Alpha Rho Iota chapter. She is set to graduate this spring with degrees in Associate of Arts and Associate of Science before transferring to the University of Mary for a degree in Elementary Education. Kylie is passionate about working with children; she has taught classes at her local church and gained experience as a babysitter and nanny. Her hobbies include reading, baking, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog.
“Eva and Kylie exemplify the leadership, scholarship, and service that Phi Theta Kappa represents,” stated Dr. Katie Renville, M.Ed., PsyD., Assistant Professor of Psychology and PTK Co-Advisor. "Their dedication to academic excellence and their contributions to our campus community have set an outstanding example for their peers. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and excited to see where their futures take them."
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society aims to recognize academic achievement among students at two-year colleges while offering opportunities for leadership development and service involvement. The Alpha Rho Iota chapter at WSC continues its tradition of fostering excellence through members like Eva Vicha and Kylie Keller.
