Census Bureau: 3.7% of people in Stark County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 32,710 citizens living in Stark County in 2021, 96.3% said they were only one race, while 3.7% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Stark County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 88.7% or 29,006 individuals. Following them, African American accounted for 2.2% and totaled 727 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Stark County is 0.2% lower than the state average, which stands at 3.9%.
