North Dakota Senator Judy Lee was awarded Champion of Change at this year’s Summit on Behavioral Health in Energy Country.
This award recognizes an individual or organization that has made great strides in advocating for systems change, legislative action, civic engagement, or grassroots advocacy. Senator Lee has been a leader in the North Dakota Senate advocating for mental health reform since she was elected in 1994. She demonstrates a compassion for securing enhanced mental health and substance abuse services within the state of North Dakota. Senator Lee sponsored or co-sponsored 57 bills in the last legislative session alone.
