Of the 148 people living in Portal in 2019, 48 percent (71) were women and 52 percent (77) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Western ND News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 56-to-41. In the 65 and over age range, there were 16 females and 14 males.
